Description
This picture was taken in the islands of Vava’u, Tonga. We saw a mother and calf swimming slowly in a sheltered area. We got in the water but the water was a bit milky and the visibility not so good. After looking for a little while, we saw the white outline of the mother’s pectoral fins below us. So we stayed there, floating at the surface and waiting for them to come up for air. Soon enough the calf came up. It initially kept its distance but became more and more curious and playful, swimming around and getting close. I was really lucky that at some stage he swam only a few meters away from me which is when I took this picture.
